Face of Mankind MMORPG - Short (p)review

"Face of Mankind, another MMORPG with a different name. That's about it, really.
The graphics aren't really that good, but not bad either. I can run it on 1600x1200 with everything on 'High' and it does it very smoothly (Radeon 9800pro). The sound ? Hmmm, not much there, so I can't really criticize it or anything.

The mining isn't even a manual process, you let machines do the work for you and you get to see anything of it. It takes ages (so it does with every other MMORPG too, to put it blandly). And the transport to the world of your choice afterwards to sell the goods, costs credits and time too.

What is it with these MMORPG creators to think we gamers have so much time on our hands that we want to spent it mining and farming for ages ?

Other MMORPGs besides Face of Mankind at least give you some leisure by exploring around. If you do that too much in Face of Mankind you're bound to get shot, coz the existing players within the game who have farmed their a** off before you did, bought themselves guns and the like to keep themselves entertained. PvP is highly regarded in this game, even if you want nothing else than to trade or something. Bad luck, you're dead...

Overall ?...
Mediocre graphics (which will not be updated much on the final), mediocre to bad sounds/music (but this could be updated on the final), missions are based on what the players make of it (so basically it sucks ;)), mining/farming is desperately boring, errr..., uhm...., well, u know ?"

Following a graphic impression according to screenshots :

Face of Mankind

The Interface of the game.. Pretty good imo

My homey room

The Toilet

The Kitchen

A hallway on Moonbase

Just another hallway on Moonbase

The Mining Terminals

With these things you can mine for minerals and other raw materials, which you can then sell or use to manufacture an actual product

A look outside Moonbase

The Comms Station... Staff only

The Market on Moonbase

With these Marketing Terminals you can buy and sell stuff (logically though ;))

The interface to the market

Storage Terminals

These are personalised Storage Lockers which you can access. You can transfer stuff to and fro worlds too. You can only access the stuff in the lockers on another world on THAT world...

Production Terminals

If you have some raw materials you want to use for a product, use them here

The Production Interface

This is the Vortex Gate.

From this interface you purchase your ticket (yes, it costs credits) and you are transported throughout the Galaxy.

I had a single unit of Chemical Substance mined at Moonbase transported to Tokyo, so let's pick it up and put it onto the market...

The Public News Service.. Found all across the Galaxy to keep you updated on the news (not that I've seen anything else than that for the last couple of days ;))

Advertisements everywhere.. It does resemble Tokyo in a way :)

Production Terminals at Tokyo

Ah a bar !

Semtex The Black Mage in his FoM outfit sitting down for a rest in this very cozy bar *ugh*

Never did find this quite interesting bar

The Medical Terminals on Tokyo

Shopping Spree in Tokyo

Just a piece of Tokyo. It does have atmosphere...
